Goal

There isn’t some grand purpose for Bugbox. Bugs are just neat, and I like making digital illustrations to relax. Hopefully somebody out there will really need a scalable cicada graphic.

Resources

I use the same Audubon field guide that I used for a bug project I had in high school. It’s great for identification and inspiration. It’s not the most comprehensive guide in the world, but I’ll address that if I make it through all of them.

I also tend to take photos of bugs wherever I see them. My patio, one of the lovely trails in Michigan, and natural history museums.
